Albert N. Husted
1855, was an instructor in the mathematics department. In 1862, he
was one of the founders of a group of faculty, students, and alumni
that became the core of a company called the Forty-Fourth New York
Volunteers, which participated in seventeen battles in the Civil War.
Professor Husted returned after the war, and he was well known for
his sense of humor, friendship with students, and his role as a strict
disciplinarian and vigorous teacher. |
