Blanchard Dedrick, a University at Albany employee, received a Bronze Star in 1981 for his service in World War II. During the war, Dedrick was a platoon sergeant with the 25th Infantry Division stationed in the South Pacific, where he lead his unit in combat against the enemy, assisted medics and helped transport food and medical supplies.
