William S. Bernfeld graduated
from Rensselaer Polytechnique Institute, which he had attended as
a member of the Army ROTC, in 1972. Upon graduation, he was commissioned
a second lieutenant. After ten years' of active service, during which
time he received an MBA from the University at Albany in 1974, he
joined the Army Reserve. He was promoted to the rank of Colonel in
March 1999 and in December 2000 assumed command of the 405th Combat
Support Hospital. The photograph was taken in September 2000. |
