LSAT Test Information

1. The LSAT currently contains:

  • Three multiple-choice question types
    - Reading Comprehension
    - Logical Reasoning
    - Analytical Reasoning
  • a Writing Sample

2. Tests are offered four times a year in October, December, February, and June. This course is designed to help you prepare for the LSAT.

Class Information

The bulk of each test prep class is devoted to the review of one or more question types. Each class begins with a brief lecture, the length of which varies with the question type being examined. The instructor will then do a few problems as examples of how they should be approached. Problems will then be assigned for completion during the class. After the students have had an opportunity to complete the assignment, the questions will be discussed.

Because students tend to find Analytical Reasoning the most difficult question type, two classes are devoted to this question type. The Logical Reasoning lecture includes a discussion of the various logical fallacies. The Reading Comprehension lecture discusses how to approach such questions and discusses the psychological aspects of the test. During the final class, students will take an entire past LSAT exam. In addition, all in-class questions are taken from previous LSAT exams. Student questions are encouraged and respected.

The problem solving class shows numerous strategies for attacking the questions. The data sufficiency class demonstrates an easy-to-follow method for answering this unusual question type. The logical reasoning class contains a discussion of numerous logical fallacies, which can also be employed on the argument essay. The sentence correction class reviews numerous grammatical rules tested on the exam.
