Scholarships

    The Alumni Association offers six scholarships for UAlbany students and alumni. Interested individuals may apply online for 2012-2013 scholarships beginning January 25, 2013. Email Loida R. Vera Cruz or call her at (518) 442-3087 if you have any questions.

Alumni Association Spirit Scholarship - 3 @ $1,000.00 each

• Candidate must be a rising freshman, sophomore or junior
• Candidate must demonstrate commitment to the University at Albany community by exhibiting outstanding school spirit and pride
• Financial need will be considered

Agnes E. Futterer Memorial Fellowship - $800.00 

• Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany or earn one by Spring 2013
• Canidate must and have been in residence at the University at Albany for a minimum of two academic years as an undergraduate by the time of graduation
• May be used for graduate study in theatre or theatre-related fields at the University at Albany or any other accredited institution or recognized theatre program

Albert N. Husted Fellowship - $1,000.00

• Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany or earn one by Spring 2013
• Candidate must have been in residence at the University at Albany for a minimum of two academic years as an undergraduate by the time of graduation
• May be used for full-time study at the University or any other accredited university
• Priority will be given to the candidate with a demonstrated aptitude and interest in teaching

Adna W. Risley Memorial Scholarship - $500.00

• Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree from the University at Albany or earn one by Spring 2013
• Candidate must plan to pursue a graduate degree in history at the University at Albany
• Priority will be given to the candidate with demonstrated dedication and commitment to civic engagement

Class of 1972 Alumni Scholarship - $600.00

• Candidate must be a University at Albany senior planning to enter full-time graduate study at the University
• Priority will be based on both merit and need

Bertha Brimmer Legacy Scholarship - $1,500.00 

• Candidate must be a current legacy freshman or new legacy transfer student. A legacy is a child or grandchild of a graduate of UAlbany.
• Financial need will be considered.

Applications will be available online starting January 25, 2013.
Application deadline is March 7, 2013.
