A professor looks on

University at Albany faculty attracted $391.7 million in research funding in 2007-2008, an all-time high and a reflection of the breadth and global impact of UAlbany research and scholarship.

GOLD

Graduates of the Last Decade

Our young alumni group is a great opportunity for graduates of the last decade to get involved and meet fellow UAlbany alumni while reconnecting with their alma mater.

This program is just getting off the ground, but we’ve already had one terrific event. More than 400 young alums returned to campus last October for the first GOLD reunion at Homecoming ’08, enjoying a weekend of tailgating, Sutter’s, football, fireworks, WT’s, and much more.

We’ll be sharing information about GOLD programs and services primarily through e-mail and Facebook. So, please update your email address through the alumni online community or e-mail us. You can also visit our Facebook group for current news.

Questions? What can we do for you?
Interested in learning more about the GOLD Committee or how you can help organize an event near you? E-mail Melissa Samuels at the Alumni Association or call her at (518) 442-3083.

UPCOMING EVENTS!

GOLD REUNION -- Last year, more than 400 young alums returned to campus for the first-ever GOLD reunion during Homecoming. Check out what's being planned for the 2009 GOLD Reunion, including GOLD Night at Jillian's, the Touchdown Tailgate and the Great Danes Great Bash.

GOLD BRIGADE -
Join other GOLD alums and show your school pride as part of this new young alumni volunteer group. Here are two ways you can get involved this fall:

Moving-In-Day, Thursday, Aug. 27, 9 a.m.-Noon
Make a new student feel welcome on campus by greeting first-year students as they arrive. Help them move into their residence halls and answer student and parent questions. Get a free GOLD Brigade T-shirt and join other young alums for pizza at noon at the Alumni House.

Clash of the Quads, Saturday, Sept. 12, Noon-4 p.m.
Be a judge, keep score or oversee giveaways at this spirited competition between quads. Last year, more than 1,000 students battled against one another in three-legged races, egg-on-spoon relays, a tug of war and more in this spirit-building school tradition that was revitalized in 2003. Meet at the Alumni House 11 a.m.-noon to pick up your free GOLD Brigade T-shirt and enjoy some bagels and coffee with other young alums.

The GOLD Brigade is an easy, fun way to connect with other young alums and support your alma mater. So don’t wait. Get involved today!
