The Bay Area Chapter
of the University at Albany Alumni Association

Join the fun! Together with fellow alumni and friends, discover the hidden treasures of the Livermore Valley Wine Country, one of California’s oldest wine regions. The Livermore Valley is known for its older plantings of Cabernet, Semillon and Chardonnay, and is becoming better known for producing some of the finest wines California has to offer.

Come and explore! Travel in comfort and style in an air conditioned motor coach as you explore some of California’s best, oldest, and friendliest wineries. This day-long event includes in-depth wine seminars, tours and “question and answer” sessions with wine makers, a private lunch, final reception and bottling your own commemorative bottle of wine, wine-tasting fees, taxes and tips.

Highlights Include

  • Convenient round trip transportation beginning and ending at Pleasanton BART via Black Tie Limousine Transportation. Tour begins at 9:45 am and concludes at 5:00 pm.

  • Wine tasting at Crooked Vine and Stony Ridge wineries, conveniently located on the same grounds as famed Trio Restaurant. Lunch at Trio Restaurant will consist of a gourmet sandwich, Caesar salad, roasted garlic, biscotti, iced tea and lemonade.
  • Private tour of landmark Concannon Vineyards, the country’s oldest continuously operated winery, and source of the clone vines that started much of the Cabernet grown in California.
  • Exclusive winmaking discussion with wine grower Thomas Coyne, advisor to many of the valley’s wine growers and member of The Rhone Rangers.
  • End of day bottling party and commemorative bottle of wine at Tenuta Vineyards

  • And of course, wine tasting all day long (21 and older only)
