The Learning Center Tutoring Program helps students improve their academic performance. Open to all students at Albany High, the program provides assistance in key subjects such as mathematics, the sciences, and English. Access to help is available four days a week through both the on-site program in AHS's library and on-line tutoring. About 45 UAlbany student tutors particpate, recruited from many parts of teh University such as the School of Education's 390 course, the Honors College, the Albany State University Black Alliance, and Fuerza Latina.

The Mentoring Program engages approximately 30 students annually to help improve learning readiness, motivate study, advance personal growth, and spark interest in college and career. UAlbany mentors work with students through group activities and one-on-one mentoring. Programs emphasize educational activities and skill development - e.g., an event that focused on debating access to health care.

Campus Visits seek to increase college-bound focus of entering Albany High freshmen by giving them a taste of university life. Over 500 AHS students visit annually through this program. Campus visits include orientation, a complimentary lunch in dining hall, and an interactive session with an ethnically-diverse panel of UAlbany students. The panelists discuss critical topics such as overcoming barriers and improving high school study habits.

The Teach Together is an annual fall event where UAlbany faculty join AHS teachers in the classroom to introduce students to a wide range of fields, college degree programs, and career pathways. During the three years of its existence, the program has involved over 700 AHS students and over 80 faculty from the high school and university.
