Mission Statement |

|
The Albany Institute for Research in Education (AIRE) was formed to foster state-of-the-art research and development projects designed to inform education, learning, leadership and human development for young people and adults both in and out of the classroom and across the lifespan.
Faculty and staff of AIRE, who belong to various units within the University at Albany, seek to accomplish this mission through research and development with and in service to education. They work with educators, policymakers and others to create new knowledge as well as to put knowledge into practice.
In addition to basic research, AIRE seeks to learn what organizational and community structures and practices are most beneficial in helping a diverse range of individuals gain new knowledge and skills and then employ what they learn to enhance their own and others' well being. AIRE provides a structure within which collaborative research and development occur and offers opportunities to partner with institutions and organizations outside the university.
