| Preventing Suicide on a Large Public University Campus |

|
This project seeks to meet the unique and complex needs of undergraduate students who are at high risk for suicide by enhancing the University at Albany’s existing Comprehensive Campus Suicide Prevention Model. Specifically, the project focuses on: (1) providing comprehensive, targeted, and coordinated training programs for campus personnel and trained paraprofessional student staff members to assist them in responding effectively to students with mental health and behavioral health problems; and (2) preparing informational materials for students, staff, faculty, and families that outline warning signs of suicide, describe risk and protective factors, and identify appropriate actions to take when a student is in distress.
