The Center on English Learning and Achievement (CELA) recently established a new website for those who work with children ages 3-6. The site is dedicated to promoting age-appropriate activities that foster the development of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that young children need to become literate. To that end, Literacy Corner offers a variety of resources, including a set of activities for group settings. These can be accessed by theme (e.g ., nature and puppets), type (e.g., finger game and book making), literacy skill (e.g., rhyming and phonemic awareness), or language strand (e.g., speaking and listening). In addition, it suggests resources for teachers and parents, including links to sites with free or low-cost products.
