- The Aging Prepared Community Project leads a community
wide effort to address aging needs in the Capital District of New York
State.
- The Internships
in Aging Project at the School of Social Welfare at the University at
Albany is part of a national effort to improve the training
of geriatric social workers and to expand social worker roles in aging
services.
- The Center on Intellectual Disabilities offers training
and program innovations in the care of aging persons with intellectual
disabilities and promotes cross-agency support of aging caregivers.
- Certificate Program in Gerontology
- Convalescent Care in Rural Communities
- Dementia Care Training and Demonstration
- The Elder Network of the Capital Region
promotes a consortium of health networks, state and local government,
provider agencies, faith communities, and the University at Albany, with
the active participation of older persons, to prepare communites and individuals
for aging.
- OASIS is a national not for profit education organization
dedicated to enriching the lives of mature adults. In addition to its
national mission, the Albany OASIS strives to be the bridge between the vast resources and expertise at the
University and the OASIS members.
- The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offers
service opportunities to aging persons in Albany and Schenectady counties.
- Supporting Grandparent Caregivers
- The Web/Satellite Instructional Center offers distance
education, certification programs and cd-rom based training packages.
