Capital Region Active Choices
Active Choices is a personal, telephone support program that encourages regular physical activity. A volunteer coach works with individuals through regular telephone contacts to develop a physical activity routine customized to the needs, abilities and goals of each participant. Contact with participants occurs over a 6 month period. The program is set up for all physical activity levels from the beginner to those people that are active but need some more guidance and motivation.

In the Capital Region, a centralized call-center will be established in the CEAS offices. The Project Coordinator will provide the initial round of promotional education and training in Active Choices to develop “community experts” in the evidence based model.
