Why Volunteer?
Need a new perspective? Well, we have one.
Did you know that in a few short years, seniors over age 65 will be about 60% of the population? Did you know, too, that your retirement years will be healthier and longer than those of any generation before you?
When we speak with our senior volunteers they often say something like, “After the first few years of my retirement, I had played a lot of golf, traveled and visited family, and spent time on my own, but I began to ask, ‘What comes next?’”
Many vital and exciting years lie before you. Of course, you have many options. Volunteering is just one of them.
Benefits of Volunteering
- You determine the hours and level of commitment you want to give.
- It’s a great way to re-enter the job force, even if part-time.
- You can learn state-of-the-art information and technology available at a wide range of job sites.
- You can even help create the leading edge in service oppportunities because you can mentor and teach others; and you can serve on advisory groups and councils.
- You’ll meet many new people.
- You can give, knowing how urgently you are needed.
In fact, seniors are the most frequently requested group of volunteers because of their experience, ability to encourage/teach others, and their high performance levels.
Currently, there are many requests for senior volunteers still unmet. You can pick and choose what suits you best, and we'll be glad to help you find the right match.
In our experience, there’s no lack of experience awaiting you through volunteering.
