HOPE AFRICA (The Church of the Province of Southern Africa) AIDS Badges

The Save Africa From AIDS (SAFA) Campaign is working with the Department of Social Development (Hope Africa) at the Church of the Province of Southern Africa to create a community in which South African rural villagers living with HIV/AIDS can pool their resources while empowering and caring for each other.

The AIDS badges were handmade by South Africans living with HIV/AIDS, and these persons are compensated by Hope Africa for their beading skills. SAFA is selling these AIDS badges to help promote awareness of the AIDS pandemic in Africa and to raise funds to meet these artists' material needs for food, drugs, etc. Funds will also be used to help train other South Africans infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in learning to empower themselves and to communicate the reality they live to others through art. SAFA also hopes to assist Hope Africa in building a refugee/shelter and resource center to meet the needs of adults and children living with HIV/AIDS.
