This program is not available to international applicants. Additional Admission Requirements:

  • NYS certification (initial or professional) for Teaching Students with Disabilities at the Childhood level (grade 1 - 6)
  • a Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or from an institution authorized by the Board of Regents to confer degrees
  • Appropriate required course distribution as indicated in the Graduate Bulletin requirements
  • Completion of DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) training
  • Completion of Autism requirement
  • A 3.0 or better (out of 4.0) quality grade point average

Please visit the Division of Special Education website for information regarding additional enrollment requirements. The test score requirement is for application Fall 2016 and forward. The department will also accept the following exams in lieu of GRE: edTPA, GMAT, Miller's Analogies, or Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators.
