Transcripts of all college work attempted, including college courses taken while in high school, are required before a decision can be made. In addition, transfer applicants with less than 24 transferable credits of completed college level work must have their high schools send us an official copy of the secondary school transcript and SAT-1 scores. MATHEMATICS REQUIREMENT
The University at Albany has a General Education Mathematics requirement. All incoming students must have successfully completed a minimum of two units of college preparatory mathematics to be prepared for this requirement. Please indicate by title the mathematics courses that you have passed both at the high school and college level.
WORK EXPERIENCE & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All applicants must provide a chronological statement explaining any time periods since high school graduation not covered by periods of college attendance. A resume may also be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
ACADEMIC MAJOR
TRANSFERS MUST SELECT ONE MAJOR . Accepted transfers who are awarded fewer than 24 transfer credits (0-23) will be admitted as undeclared or intended majors only.
EDUCATION: The University at Albany does not offer a bachelor's degree in Education. The University offers a master's degree program leading to New York State provisional teacher certification in secondary education. If you wish to pursue this certification please select a major in the subject area you plan on teaching.
Before choosing a starred (* ) major, please note that there are special entrance requirements for the following programs:
* CRIMINAL JUSTICE and SOCIAL WELFARE require 42 credits completed, Junior standing with 56 completed credits at the time of enrollment, as well as specific course pre-requisites to be considered. These programs also require additional application materials which you will be directed to complete after an initial review of your application and transcript(s).
* Other programs such as ACCOUNTING, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION, MATHEMATICS, COMMUNICATION, PSYCHOLOGY, SOCIOLOGY, INFORMATION SCIENCE and BIOCHEMISTRY/MOLECULAR BIOLOGY have specific course requirements. Prospective transfers who do not meet all of the requirements at this time will be offered an alternate major option, or admission as a proposed major so that may complete the program entrance requirements at the University.
