The University at Albany is an internationally recognized public research institution located in the state capital of New York. Established in 1844 and designated a university in 1962, UAlbany puts the world within reach for over 18,000 students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Programs of Study

The University offers more than 120 programs leading to master's and doctoral degrees. Undergraduates choose from 58 majors and 61 minors. A rigorous Honors College provides enriched opportunities for exceptionally motivated students.

Student Life

UAlbany students get involved in a variety of activities, from Greek life to musical groups to community service. Our Division for Student Success offers a range of support services and opportunities, from career services to residential life to orientation.

Athletics

Intercollegiate teams at UAlbany compete in Division I America East Conference, except for football, which competes in Division I Football Championship Subdivision Northeast Conference. Men compete in eight sports, and women compete in 11.

Tuition & Financial Aid

For the 2009-2010 academic year, undergraduates who are residents of New York pay $4,970; out-of-state undergrads pay $12,870. Graduate tuition is $8,370 for New York residents and $13,250 for those who live out of state. The University also offers scholarships and financial aid for students who qualify.
