Goldie Brenner Swartz ’51 and Howard Swartz Scholarship

Creating opportunities for future generations

For 20-year-old Melissa Brabham, the Goldie Brenner Swartz ’51 and Howard Swartz Scholarship means that “someone thought of me and recognized my academic endeavors.” A junior journalism major, Brabham is grateful for the scholarship, which “has helped me pay for school so I don’t have to borrow or take out too many loans.” The Hempstead, Long Island, native plans to work in journalism or public relations.

Retired elementary schoolteacher Goldie Brenner Swartz ’51 and her husband, Howard, created the scholarship fund to give award recipients the opportunity to “lead successful lives.”
