This business education partnership recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement and examines key issues in education. Graduating seniors from Capital Region private, public, and parochial schools and Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) programs are invited on the basis of scholarship and service to attend the annual Scholars Recognition Dinner. Each student chooses as a guest the one elementary or secondary school teacher, who has had the greatest influence on that student. More than 500 young people, parents and teachers are honored each year. The dinner has been sponsored by Price Chopper, Charles Freihofer Baking Co., The Times Union, CS Arch, Whiteman, Osterman & Hanna, LLC, the New York Lottery and Sano-Rubin Construction.
