Mission Statement

Alianza Latina was officially organized in 1996 with a mission to serve as a representative body for employees of Latino heritage at the University at Albany. It is Alianza Latina's mission to create an environment whereby members can gather in mutual support and understanding of one another, and where information on educational, career advancement, social, personal, cultural, or other subject areas of interest can be exchanged.

Goals:

• To provide a supportive environment of colleagues and friends who share interests and concerns as members of the University community.

• To serve as a role model for Latino students and offer support and encouragement to the student body as a whole.

• To network with the neighboring Latino community and cultivate supportive relationships.

• To enrich and increase our campus' cultural diversity, provide academic expertise, and collaborate with our campus administrators respecting the advancement of our university family.
