A Welcoming Community
Approximately 2,400 incoming freshmen and 1,350 transfer students meet new classmates, map academic paths, become acclimated to campus life, and learn what it takes to be a successful Great Dane.
Six University at Albany researchers are members of teams that won funding through the State University of New York Health Network of Excellence. The health-related research projects span antibiotic development, big data, and 3D printing technology initiatives.
PRIMED FOR CAREER SUCCESS
Whether working to develop new therapy approaches for difficult-to-treat cancers or serving as a tax advisor for clients of PricewaterhouseCoopers, University at Albany students are gaining practical and professional experience through a variety of on- and off-site internship opportunities.
A Hub for New Ideas
UAlbany professors from the School of Education and Department of Sociology collaborate on $1.4 million study to develop a literacy course on reading and writing arguments, geared toward high school freshmen at risk of dropping out of school.
Future UAlbany students will have access to a new 400-seat auditorium, a two-level fitness center and enhanced dining facilities with market-style food service venues, as part of a project to expand the University's Campus Center. Construction begins this summer, with an East addition slated for completion in September 2015 and the West addition in the spring of 2017.
