    UAlbany AVAIL researchers Alex Muro and Eric Krans recently unveiled a mobile-optimized web application called Electorate. The app, a social voter information platform, aims at increasing the downward trending voting turnout numbers in New York by tapping into open data.

    #UAlbanySummer: Graduate Student on Mission to Decode Albany’s 800 Street Names

    UAlbany graduate student Erik Schlimmer is launching a long-term project to decode the meaning behind all of Albany’s 800 current street names. He plans to unveil his findings in a book titled, “Capital Cobblestone,” after conducting approximately four years of research.

    MFA Students' Art Showcased in Best of SUNY Exhibition

    Four University at Albany students -- Christine Batson, Ryan Clow, Jason van Staveren, and Simeon Youngmann -- were recently named finalists in a SUNY-wide art competition. Their work is included in the annual Best of SUNY Student Art Exhibition on display at the New York State Museum through Sept. 6.
