Among the 165,000 troops who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg were at least a dozen students from the Albany State Normal School – a teacher’s college in upstate New York that would eventually become the University at Albany. They took part in the battle that is often regarded as the turning point of the Civil War.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has released the first-ever national study examining housing discrimination against same-sex couples in the private rental market.
