Biography

Makoto Nagasawa is ABD at the University at Albany, SUNY, and is a Doctoral Assistant of PROPHE. He received a Masters of Science in Education at the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California (USC) where he specialized in International/ Intercultural Education. He also taught as an Assistant Lecturer at the East Asian Languages and Cultures Department at the USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Nagasawa's dissertation is on differentiation in Japanese private higher education, focusing on diversified social roles and highlighting female participation. His research has been presented at various conferences, including the Comparative and International Education Society and the Association for the Study of Higher Education as well as at PROPHE conferences in Japan, China, and USA. Since 2003, Nagasawa has published articles and chapters in English and Japanese. Currently he holds a full-time position as Assistant Administrative Coordinator at Keio Academy of New York ( Westchester, NY), an affiliate educational institution of Keio University in Tokyo.
